Shelly-Ann Trotman

My name is Shelly-Ann Trotman and I have been a Registered Nurse for more than 20 years.

After graduating from the School of Health – University of Wolverhampton, I worked within the NHS trust as a Haematology /Oncology Nurse, a skilled chemotherapy nurse and I also specialised in treating patients with blood disorders like Sickle Cell Anaemia, Thalassaemia and clotting disorders to name a few.

I worked as a senior staff nurse for a number of years, after which I was then promoted to become a ward sister where my responsibilities included the daily management of the staff base and coordinating shifts.

I left the NHS in 2018 and joined the MACC Care family in November 2019, where my journey into the care home setting began with a refreshing and warm welcome from the team.

I have been a Mentor to junior staff and students for many years and my greatest passion is teaching and feeling that great achievement that I have helped someone to achieve their learning outcomes.

I am a mother to four children and my hobbies are reading, travelling, meeting people and learning about their cultures and backgrounds. I also love music of any genre.
