Modern slavery policy
Modern Slavery Statement
MACC Care Group, April 2025
This statement is made in accordance with the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the actions taken by Macc Care Group during the financial year to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains.
MACC Care Group operates 15 care homes across the UK, providing residential, nursing, and dementia care. We are firmly committed to ensuring that everyone in our care—and all those who work with or for us—are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
We acknowledge the health and social care sector is potentially vulnerable to modern slavery, particularly in areas such as recruitment practices, agency staffing, and outsourced services.
1. Our Commitment
We maintain a zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and human trafficking. Our commitment extends throughout our organisation and supply chains, and we require all contractors, suppliers, and partners to uphold the same high ethical standards.
2. Our Policies
We have implemented a range of policies and procedures that reflect our dedication to preventing modern slavery:
- Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
- Recruitment and Employment Policy
- Safeguarding Policy
- Whistleblowing Policy
- Code of Conduct
These policies are regularly reviewed and are integral to how we operate.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include providers of agency staff, catering, cleaning, facilities management, and medical supplies. We are continually enhancing our due diligence processes to ensure that all suppliers and staffing partners comply with the Modern Slavery Act and maintain ethical labour practices.
4. Training and Awareness
We deliver training on modern slavery to staff involved in recruitment, procurement, and frontline care. In-house training sessions and accessible learning materials help all employees recognise signs of exploitation and understand the appropriate reporting procedures.
5. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually strengthening our approach to preventing modern slavery. This includes regularly reviewing our policies, engaging with our suppliers, and seeking new ways to increase transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in our processes.
