At Macc Care, we’re celebrating a ‘Good’ CQC rating at our Watermead Rose home in Leicester!

As a leading care group, we believe in creating homes – places where individuals feel truly valued and supported. That’s why we’re absolutely delighted to share the news that Watermead Rose has been rated ‘Good’ across all five key areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), following its very first official inspection.

This fantastic achievement reflects the standard we uphold across each of our homes; keep reading to find out more…

Our ‘Good’ CQC Rating at Watermead Rose

Between 25 February and 4 March 2025, CQC inspectors conducted both unannounced and announced visits, assessing everything from safety and effectiveness, to responsiveness, leadership and care.

The outcome was clear: Watermead Rose is a warm, well-led and genuinely compassionate home, where personalised care is not just a philosophy – it’s a daily reality.

“Safe, Compassionate Care”

In their report, the inspectors described our home as delivering “safe, compassionate care in a clean and well-maintained environment” – something we take enormous pride in.

Every member of our team is highly trained and supported, and it was wonderful to see the inspectors recognise them as “competent and caring”.

What stood out most, though, was the feedback from residents and their families. One relative told inspectors, “As soon as we walked in, we knew it was the right one because of how we were welcomed.”

Another shared, “Staff check on [our loved one] all the time – they’re very attentive.” At Macc Care, we strive to make a difference and ensure our residents feel safe, comfortable, loved and at home – so receiving feedback like this just helps reaffirm to us that we’re getting it right.

Our Commitment to Person-Centred Care

Every individual who joins us at Watermead Rose brings with them a unique story, set of preferences, and personal values. We don’t believe in ‘one-size-fits-all’ care.

Inspectors praised the way we build each care plan around the resident, carefully considering life histories, likes and dislikes, cultural needs and family traditions. Our team takes time to truly get to know each person – not just medically, but emotionally, socially and spiritually.

They also highlighted how well we work with other health and social care professionals, ensuring a seamless and joined-up approach to support – something that was reflected in our ‘Good’ CQC rating across the board.

How Our Activities Supported Our ‘Good’ CQC Rating

Care, for us, isn’t just about keeping someone safe and well – it’s about helping them live life to the full.

That’s why we were especially proud to see our activities programme mentioned in the report. From poetry readings and Bollywood film screenings, to sensory sessions and intergenerational events with local nurseries, there’s always something going on.

And, because our programme is shaped by the interests of our residents, it’s constantly evolving and deeply personal.

Championing Inclusivity

One of the things that makes our Watermead Rose home so special is our genuine celebration of diversity.

We operate two fully equipped kitchens to cater to a range of dietary preferences, including authentic vegetarian Asian cuisine. Meals are freshly prepared on site each day, with menus available in English and Gujarati – as well as in pictorial and plated formats – to help residents make informed and independent choices.

This level of thoughtfulness runs through everything we do, and it’s wonderful to see it recognised as a strength by the CQC.

A Team to Be Proud Of

Bhav Amlani, of Macc Care Group, said: “We are incredibly proud of Watermead Rose and the recognition this ‘Good’ CQC rating brings. From the moment the home opened, we’ve been focused on creating a truly personalised care experience within a warm, inclusive and high-quality environment.

“The team at Watermead Rose live and breathe our values, treating every resident as an individual and ensuring they feel supported, respected and fulfilled every day. This rating is a testament to their dedication, compassion and commitment to delivering outstanding care.”

Our latest ‘Good’ CQC rating is testament to the hard work and dedication of our brilliant teams, from carers and caterers to cleaners and nurses. Everyone plays their part in joining up the dots to ensure our residents have meaningful, loving, enriching lives, with continuity of care.
