Meet the Manager
Steven Kazembe,
Meadow Rose Home Manager
“I absolutely love it. Working in this field, you make a lot of friends and being able to put a smile on people’s faces and make a difference is very special for me personally and for all in the team.”
Hello, I am Steven Kazembe. I am currently the registered Manager for Meadow Rose Care Home.
I trained in Malawi where I graduated as a Registered General Nurse, then completed a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management at Warwick University in the UK.
I have been working in health and social care for 18 years, 17 of which have been in management. Joining Meadow Rose in 2016, I have a good understanding of the service and feel privileged to lead such a fantastic team.
Before I came into health and social care, I worked in acute settings in my native country Malawi. This experience equipped me with the skills to manage my team and provide clinical knowledge.
Passionate about working with people, I love to make a difference in the lives of those that I meet – working closely with our residents and their loved ones. I like to empower people to exercise choice and control, no matter what their circumstances may be. I also believe in team work and value everyone who contributes, because team work is key to achieving our goals. I am empathetic and believe in compassionate leadership while motivating my team to achieve their full potential for the benefit of the people in our care. Residents are at the centre of what we do and they are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
In my spare time, I enjoy singing in a gospel choir and gardening. I find it so refreshing when I engage with nature in my allotment.

Meet the team

Julie Reade
Customer Relationship
Manager
Hello, my name is Julie and I have worked in the care industry for the last 15 years. I started in domiciliary care before going to work at Good Hope hospital for 9 years, where I gained experience in a variety of departments and learnt so much. I have since worked in areas involving challenging behaviour, mental health and specialist dementia nursing homes.
I am proud to be working at MACC Care and looking forward to the new challenges ahead, meeting new people and helping families choose the right care home environment for their loved ones.
Prior to working within care, I was a holiday rep with Thomas Cook for 10 years. This was a job I loved as every 6-8 months I could change destination and it inspired my love of travelling. I look forward to my holidays and always look for new experiences or new destinations.
I am also the owner of a 15-year-old tortie cat, Chrystal who was a rescue cat at 6 months old. I love animals and due to this I am heavily involved in organising fundraising for a local animal rescue charity, providing support with cat homing visits and helping with the transportation of donations.
