Recently, we had the honour of celebrating the 60th anniversary of a couple at one of our West Midlands care homes.

Celebrating 60 years of marriage, 83-year-old Dorothy and 84-year-old Bob are a truly wonderful couple worthy of recognition. A retired secretary and quality surveyor, Dorothy and Bob share two daughters, a son and seven grandchildren who are regular visitors to the couple at Wulfrun Rose.
Local to the area, Dorothy and Bob raised their family in Milldale Crescent, Wolverhampton. Here, they built relationships with others in the area, spending time with neighbours and organising an abundance of day trips and coffee mornings that were the cause of many wonderful memories for the couple.
How We Helped to Celebrate in Our West Midlands Care Home
At Wulfrun Rose, our staff were dedicated to providing Dorothy, Bob and their family with a wonderful day to remember.
To ensure that Dorothy felt prepared for the celebration, our staff members treated her to a full pamper session where she was able to enjoy a new hairdo, a facial, make-up and a manicure.
In addition to giving Dorothy the royal treatment, our staff took the time to organise a delicious buffet, put up beautiful decorations and supply the family members with a glass of champagne to celebrate.
Our Thoughts Regarding the Celebrations
When asked about Dorothy and Bob’s anniversary celebration, our activities coordinator, Shirley James said: “It was a joy-filled day for all of us at Wulfrun Rose. Bob and Dorothy have a truly special relationship and to mark this monumental occasion was a privilege for all involved.”
“Dorothy loved her pampering session and swept Bob off his feet as she always has done. It was great to get their family involved and I know that meant a lot to the happy couple.”
Feedback From the Happy Couple
After the celebrations had taken place, Bob was able to share some thoughts regarding the wonderful event. “On behalf of myself and Dorothy, I would like to thank the home manager, Jackie Scott, and all the amazing staff for making this a truly memorable day for us both. The celebrations were lovely and to share this milestone with friends and family made it that much more special.”
