We’re proud to be celebrating 12 shortlistings across three of the care sector’s leading awards.
Across the Great British Care Awards, Social Care Leadership Awards and LaingBuisson Awards, colleagues and teams from across Macc Care have been recognised for their work in areas including leadership, activities, catering, workforce development and customer relationships.
The shortlistings reflect the breadth of work taking place across our homes and wider group, as well as the commitment of the people who support our residents every day.
Recognition at the Great British Care Awards
We have received six shortlistings at the Great British Care Awards.
Macc Care is shortlisted for The Care Employer Award and The Three Rs’ Award, recognising our approach to supporting and developing colleagues across the group.
Several of our team members have also been recognised individually.
Daniela Milia from Wyrley Rose is shortlisted for The Frontline Leaders Award following her work supporting residents to regain independence.
Our Group Executive Chef, Anas Al Saadi, has been nominated for The Care Home Cook/Chef Award for his personalised approach to resident dining.
Group Activities Lead Julie Hanvey is shortlisted for The Care Home Activity Organiser Award, recognising her work to create meaningful activities around residents’ individual interests.
Regional Head of Housekeeping Sharon Angel has also been nominated for The Workforce Development Award following her work to strengthen training across the group.
Our clinical leaders recognised
Four of our colleagues have also been shortlisted at the Social Care Leadership Awards.
Marie Accison, Care Home Manager at Sutton Rose, has been recognised for building a stable and supportive team.
Louise Kearns, manager at Wulfrun Rose, has been shortlisted for her inclusive approach to leadership and colleague development.
At Watermead Rose in Leicestershire, Ramona Babet and Betty Varghese have also received shortlistings, reflecting their clinical expertise and the support they provide to residents with more complex care needs.
These nominations recognise the importance of strong leadership in supporting both residents and colleagues across our homes.
National recognition at the LaingBuisson Awards
We have also been named as a finalist at the LaingBuisson Awards.
Macc Care is shortlisted for Care Home Group of the Year, recognising our approach to delivering high-quality, clinically led care across our homes.
Our Senior Customer Relationship Manager, Soni Atwal, is also shortlisted for the Rising Star Award.
Since joining Macc Care in August 2024, Soni has helped develop our centralised communications function, helping families gain a greater insight into everyday life across our homes through authentic digital content.
Recognising the people behind our care
Bhav Amlani, Director of Macc Care Group, said: “To have 12 shortlistings across these awards is a fantastic achievement and we’re incredibly proud of everyone involved.
“What makes it particularly special is seeing colleagues from different parts of Macc Care recognised for the work they do. There’s a huge amount of commitment behind each nomination, both from the individuals shortlisted and the teams around them.
“The breadth of nominations just serves to underline the quality we have running throughout the group as we deliver care services throughout the West Midlands.”
For us, these shortlistings are particularly meaningful because they recognise colleagues working across a wide range of roles.
From frontline care and clinical leadership to catering, activities, housekeeping and support functions, each person contributes to the experience our residents receive every day.
Building on a strong year
The shortlistings follow our recent inclusion in carehome.co.uk’s Top 20 Mid-Size Large Care Home Groups.
Together, these recognitions reflect the work taking place across Macc Care and the commitment of our teams to maintaining high standards across our homes.
We remain focused on supporting our colleagues, developing strong leadership and continuing to provide personalised care that reflects the individual needs, preferences and routines of every resident.
