At Macc Care, we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people.

That is why we are incredibly proud that Blythe Rose Solihull, our specialist dementia care home, has been recognised for its commitment to helping people build sustainable careers within health and social care.

The home received an award at the Fairway and Embark Celebration of Learning, held at Birmingham Botanical Gardens, celebrating the opportunities Blythe Rose has created for people entering the care sector.

Celebrating learning and achievement

The Celebration of Learning brought together learners, care providers, employers, referral partners and other stakeholders to recognise people who have completed training and taken important steps towards employment.

The event also highlighted the role that strong partnerships can play in creating accessible routes into rewarding careers in care.

Representatives from the local community, including the local MP and Mayor, attended the celebration to show their support for the social care sector and the employment opportunities it provides.

As a large specialist dementia service, Blythe Rose Solihull has embraced the Fairway and Embark approach, investing in people and nurturing new talent to build a dedicated workforce.

Creating meaningful career opportunities

Through the academy, 30 people have successfully joined the team at Blythe Rose.

An outstanding 93% of those individuals have remained with the home, demonstrating the value of providing people with the right training and ongoing support from the beginning of their careers.

The support does not end once someone secures a role. Team members are encouraged to continue learning and developing their skills within the home.

Six colleagues have already advanced into Care Co-ordinator roles, while another team member is continuing their professional development by working towards a Level 4 qualification.

These achievements show how an initial opportunity can become the beginning of a meaningful, long-term career.

From first steps to future leaders

Bhav Amlani, Director of Macc Care Group, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the team at Blythe Rose for this well-deserved recognition.

“At Macc Care, we believe exceptional care begins with exceptional people and this award reflects the dedication shown by our colleagues every day.

“Supporting people into care roles is about so much more than filling vacancies. It is about creating meaningful career pathways and giving people the confidence and opportunity to grow. To see so many individuals not only join Blythe Rose, but stay and progress as future leaders is something very special.”

By giving team members opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and work towards further qualifications, Blythe Rose is helping colleagues build confidence and prepare for the next stage of their careers.

It also allows the home to develop future leaders who already understand its residents, values and approach to care.

Developing a specialist dementia care workforce

Providing high-quality dementia care requires compassion and a genuine commitment to understanding each resident as an individual.

Training and professional development help colleagues strengthen the knowledge and practical skills they need to support residents with a wide range of needs.

They also give team members greater confidence in their roles and help them understand how person-centred care can make a meaningful difference to residents and their families.

Bhav continued: “As a specialist dementia care home, Blythe Rose relies on people who are compassionate and committed to making a real difference. This award is a wonderful reflection of what can be achieved when good partnerships and quality training come together.”

Working together to strengthen social care

The recognition reflects the importance of care providers and community partners working together to help more people discover the opportunities available within social care.

By creating supportive routes into employment and continuing to invest in colleagues after they join, care providers can develop a more skilled and stable workforce.

Bhav concluded: “We’re grateful to Fairway, Embark and the Care Academy for their continued partnership and for the important role they play in helping people take their first steps into the care sector.”

Supporting people to thrive

The award is a proud achievement for everyone at Blythe Rose and reflects the home’s commitment to creating an environment where colleagues are supported to thrive.

From welcoming people into their first care roles to helping experienced team members progress into leadership positions, we want every colleague to have the opportunity to build a career they can be proud of.

By investing in our people, we can continue providing compassionate, high-quality care while developing the skilled care professionals and leaders of the future.
