Meet the Manager
Cheryl Harbourne MBE,
Commissioning Manager
We are delighted to introduce Cheryl Harbourne MBE, who as Commissioning Manager will drive MACC Care’s vision for the expert provision of respectful, person-centred care and enrichment for all Blythe Rose residents.
Cheryl who qualified as a nurse in 1987, has over 16 years’ care home management experience. Under her leadership, her last home from a CQC rating ‘good’ in care in 2015, to ‘outstanding’ in 2017 and in 2019, became one of only nine homes in the country to attain ‘outstanding’ ratings across all five assessment criteria: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
Whilst directing her team to gain a number of awards – including Level 1 Dementia Care Matters and Meaningful Care Matters Awards for ‘exceptional person-centred dementia care’ and Special Recognition in the 2019 Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards – Cheryl’s personal contribution to the sector has not gone unrecognised.
Awarded no less than an MBE for her services to veterans during the Covid-19 pandemic, Cheryl was also a finalist in the Good Morning Britain 1 Million Minutes ‘Dame Barbara Windsor Award’, for her contribution to combating loneliness for elderly people with dementia.
At Blythe Rose, Cheryl aims to set standards in developing the very best nursing and dementia care home in the West Midlands. Working with a highly skilled and qualified team that shares her passion, within an exceptional, purpose-designed environment, she will ensure that every resident is ‘Living in Harmony’ – emotionally, with others and with the world around them.
