Here at Macc Care, we’ve recently hosted our annual award ceremony to recognise and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our care home workers across our range of homes.

The awards were separated into categories and included every single one of our homes to unite us as a team and celebrate our achievements.

Care Home Workers | Going The Extra Mile

To highlight the effort of our care home workers who have gone the extra mile this past year, we created the GEM awards; an internal event spanning our eleven care homes.

The aim of the awards was to commemorate those who truly embody our core values of love, care and compassion while continuing to work to a high standard.

With nominees from each of our luxury care homes, the GEM awards brought a wonderful sense of solidarity and accomplishment to every member of our team.

Care Home Workers | The Awards Received

As part of our GEM ceremony, several different awards were presented for a range of our care homes and care home workers.

Our Dora Rose care home in Milford received the Social Media award, with Shelley Moore winning the SCA/Chaps award for her consistent hard work throughout the year. In the next category,  The Home Manager/Nurse of the Year award went to Anna Trance from Church Rose, and Mark Fusilero from Sutton Rose.

While Sutton Rose celebrated Jimsy Varghese’s win with the SCA/Chaps award, Carer of the Year went to Jenita Frances from Abbey Rose and Rachel Wellington from Willow Rose – congratulations!

Continuing with the celebration of our care home workers, the Special Recognition award was received by Karen Palmer, our head of finance at Macc Care, while the Visionary/Influencer/Team Player award went to Paulo Crespo from Blossomfield Rose and Louise Ali from Wulfrun Rose.

Also from Blossomfield Rose, Lewis Szilvazi won Support Worker of the Year along with Jane Ellison from Studley Rose. Julie Shakeshaft from Auston Rose and Kadi Kitt from Priestly Rose then picked up the Outstanding Individual Award.

Finally, in the last and most competitive award category, Meadow Rose, our Longbridge Care Home, received the Care Home of the Year award. This was for their person-centred approach and committed team that has worked tirelessly to create an inclusive and supportive culture.

The Response From Our Operations Director

Speaking about the awards received by our care home workers, Sharen Guise, our operations director at Macc Care, said: “This has been yet another challenging year for the social care sector and despite this, our staff have continued to provide the highest standards of care.

We wanted to extend our gratitude to them by hosting a collective evening of celebration, which recognised the hard work of each and every member of the Macc Care family. Love, care and compassion are the key three pillars upon which Macc Care is built, and I can confidently say that every single individual in our family proudly carries that ethos with them on a daily basis.

I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved over the past year, and we’re all looking forward to another year of making a meaningful difference in our residents’ lives.”
